Top 5 Blog Commenting Tips and Tricks | SEO 101

Blog commenting, though one of the most frowned upon techniques in building links and search engine optimization due to spamming issues, is definitely one of the golden PR juice providers.

After a few months that I have been busy and never had the time to write articles in my SEO Blog, I decided to share some tips in blog commenting as a comeback article.

I know you don’t want to be overloaded with my stories, so here are the techniques that I use in blog commenting:

1.  Evaluate the site that you are commenting on, does it allow blog comments that have keyword names or does it even approve blog comments? It is important that you check the comments section first before wasting your time writing about your feedback.

2. Make a sensible blog comment. These are mostly approved by blog owners and also makes a good impression to other users. If you can clearly state your point with a specific topic, users might be interested to read your articles and make comments on your blog as well.

3. I myself am tired of “Thanks for the wonderful post” comments, and so as other website owners. Make sure that you will write something from what you read, not what is saved in your text editor that you post on a copy paste basis.

4. Take advantage of commentluv, it allows name@keyword comments which could pass a reasonable amount of link juice to your site. Check if the site has one, and make it to a point that you write your name in the specified format.

5. Do not ever make comments just to increase links, remember that the internet is a community for web users and not a place to post spam. If you want to spam, take it elsewhere, the blogging community is slowly getting renegade with spamming nowadays.

Well, these are just what I would like to share for now. These tips will surely help you out with your linkbuilding campaigns. Remember that being a critic is better than being a robot, and a critic’s comments are more accepted by webmasters.

So it’s possible for a link-building technique to be both frowned upon/discouraged AND provide premium link juice?

  3. admin Says:

Yes, it is. As you can see, blog commenting done right is not spamming at all. It is being discouraged because of rogue spammers all over the web.

All of the websites, forums, blogs and etc know that link-building goes on. You are right to point out adding good material when commenting on someones site. If they can tell your interested in the topic or you provide useful comments then most won’t mind your link-building. It’s the true spammers who ruin it for people just trying to get traffic to their site to provide useful material or services.

I have been reading alot about commenting on blogs and I see so many that say “awesome comment” or “great post”. I immediately bypass those links because I figure they are just trying to promote their site. I read blogs if I am interested in the subject and I have learned alot from them. Your article helped me so thank you.

Thanks for the wonderful post! Just kidding, I too get sick of reading comments on articles that are obviously people just using the author for their own gain. If your going to comment, you should at least bring something to the table of conversation.

What makes me so hooked with reading blogs is that, comments from readers also interests me. I’m quite disappointed for some time in reading some comments of readers because honestly, the chain of “Wonderful post” and etc. is obviously nonsense and never creates some sense which relates to the topic on the post. Anyway, this post is an ideal reminder for everybody, not just for those who lest nonsense comments but also for those people who love blogging by passion.

    Hello Blog Owner,
After reading your post in its entirety, I can acknowledge that I am in no way soliciting in the unethical practice of comment spamming. I also admit that I am making a bold attempt to get some “link juice” for my website, but at the same time, I took a good few minutes of my time to make this elaborate post.

On to a more serious point, I have a small question. Can you please let me know what you mean by CommentLuv? What exactly can someone do with it?

Thank you in advance, remember, I needfreetraffic, just like everyone else. Hehe

Many people spam on blogs because they don’t know how to post a comment, or what to say. I had my problems with these kind of things in the past. But with some kind of tips and articles like this i managed to done all the things right.

I’ve noticed many more anti-spam tools over the last 3 years. There’s the catpha phrase, tick box, human question, and webmaster comment approval. Consequently, there is no excuse, nowadays, for any spam to be displayed in the comment section of any blog.
