Website Redesign Coming Up!

This is my first post for the year and I haven’t blogged in a long time. After being occupied with a lot of work and stuff to do, I have visited my blog and found something that I need to do; to give it a new look and make it somewhat flashy and elegant. So, I will be having a major website redesign this weekend.
Personally, I love the look of my current website. It is so simple, it has easy access to information, and it’s easy to navigate. However, I know that a lot of my readers think that it’s poorly designed. So, I accept the challenge to give my website a new look for this year.
Here are some things that I am considering:
1. Add a thumbnail for posts – This however, would be limited since this domain is hosted only on a 100 mb space. I will try however to add thumbnails for each category to make my posts easily identifiable on first glance.
2. Remove specific sections of the website – I am no longer selling domains, and I no longer need some old parts of this website, so I will be taking them down too.
3. Create a logo – I think I’d be needing one, so I will be working on this the whole weekend. I think I’ll work on this first before the actual website redesign.
4. Change of website colors – I find the current color scheme boring, so I will be changing it as well. I hope my regular readers would like it though.

As I was checking out some Cuban Music on the web, I found this really interesting website, Timba.Com. It has loads of information regarding the latest news in the Cuban Music Industry, and I did find what I was looking for. I heard about a band named “Los Van Van” and got curious, and I got the answer from this website. They seriously are offering tons of information, and I think they have even surpassed that of Wikipedia.
Digging on the SEO Point of view, this website exists for over 10 years on the internet, which definitely makes it one of the authorities in the online Cuban Music world. It is loaded with information, all related to Cuban Music which gives it a plus factor for me, in terms of keyword relationship between the website’s content.

Makeityourring Diamond Engagement Rings Update
Ok, makeityourring diamond engagement rings’ SEO Contest sure gave me a good headstart. The competition was undergoing for 3 weeks now, and I am still on page 1 when you search makeityourring diamond engagement rings on Google.
I have seen lots of discussions regarding the contest and I think that it is about time that I join the contest for some healthy competition. Like what I said during my previous post, I joined makeityourring diamond engagement rings not because of the money, but for the experience. I want to know how capable I am of outranking my opponents, and this would basically determine if I have developed myself as an SEO Specialist.
Anyway, I am ranked 4 or 5 I guess for makeityourring diamond engagement rings. As far as linkbuilding goes, I haven’t done anything to build links since I have been very busy lately checking SEO reports and handling my own client. I therefore, have absolutely no time to work on my own stuff, and I have always been like that since I started going full time with BBA. I now have 10x my previous salary, which I will not disclose since I think that this is not an appropriate place to do it.
The contest will end next year, and makeityourring diamond engagement rings as the contest organizer said would be a large project in the future and the participants would be the people behind the great project. I know, it’s a bit retarded that I placed it on my own entry, but this is not actually keyword spamming. As you can see, I have a pretty long article and 3 more instances of the keyword won’t hurt me. Well, instead of reading this entry and giving me more and more traffic, why don’t you start writing your own entry for the contest and maybe we can have some healthy competition going on here?
Flash and SEO: My Insights
According to recent news, flash is finally being spidered by search engines. I personally think that it is about time that flash content finally gets indexed by search engines since flash has more design possibilities compared to the traditional HTML output.
As said from a blog (which I don’t remember), Google has finally come up with an algorithm that can dig through text objects inside a flash content. The only problem however, is that converted text (movie files, images, etc) is still invisible to the spider’s eyes.
Aside from indexing flash content, I would suggest that Google comes up with a way of reading text in images too. I mean, they came up with an image search available on android and iPhone, where you can just use and image to search for relevant articles, images, or to identify a person. Why don’t they come up with a way to index the text within the image as well?
Well, I’m not saying that Google is stupid or anything, but I think it is a good move aside from the resolved flash issues.
Anyway, back to the topic, here are my insights on Flash and SEO.
- Animated text are not read by the spider, since they are considered more as movie clips, not as images.
- Flash sites are usually 1 page sites, so they will be indexed as much as a squeeze page is.
- Flash is still not a good choice for an easy-to-rank website, since more pages with keyword relevance is always the priority of search engines.
Good move though, just a little more improvement in Google’s search algorithms and I think flash will finally make it. And I do hope that they will also come up of ways to battle spam too.
December 2010 Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination Results (NLEX)

Well, my girlfriend just took the December 2010 Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination, and we are both waiting for the results. I bet that this would be the biggest day for her, since the day that the results will be posted online will be the day that she will finally become a nurse.
She spent quite some time reviewing for the December 2010 NLEX, and I do hope that all of her hard work pays off. Being a licensed nurse is her greatest dream, and I am proud to be there to support her during the course of the review.
Anyway, the exam was held on December 19 and December 20, where Nursing graduates from all over the Philippines went to the respective areas where their examination room was assigned. This turned out to be a big day for us, since the busy reviews and solitude during weekends is finally over.
I do sympathize though for the people up North who were involved in the Pension house tragedy. They were nursing graduates who are supposed to take the December 2010 NLEX as well. I do offer my sincere condolences to their families, friends, and whoever they have left.
Anyway, December 2010 Nursing Licensure Examination Results (NLEX) will be posted some time earlynext year, and I might think of posting it here just for users to find a quick link online. I have been searching Google everyday for “December 2010 Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination Result” just to make sure that I will see it once it is posted online. And I am really committed to posting the NLEX December 2010 results here in my blog to make sure that my blog will finally be of great use to anybody. lol Well, I sure do hope that it is posted as early as possible so we can make it on Haydee’s birthday (February 14, Valentines Day!)
Just an out of topic statement, whoever thought of posting spam comments on my blog will be penalized accordingly. I was thinking more of adding a TOS here in my blog just so users will stop spamming me. But I don’t think that will work. lol

A Perfect Week Starter

I really like how things are going with my life right now. Finances, Relationship, Career, and all that stuff. I spent the weekend with my orgmates from the UP Jammers Club. I had a great time, though I was thinking of spending the weekend with my girlfriend, Haydee Canete.
Anyway, more SEO stuff coming from this blog this week, I have a reasonable amount of time this week to post at least an article a day, so it would be cool if you would regularly visit this site.
Anyway, my girlfriend, Haydee Canete is also an aspiring SEO, so in a month or two, both of us will be regularly blogging here.

My Article Blast Day

Day 2 of My New SEO Blog
It’s day 2. And I haven’t done anything yet. As you can see, I am still using a theme. I might find time during the weekends to update with some SEO stuff. I have a lot of ideas in mind but I can’t seem to type it now due to my busy working schedule.
Anyway, It’s just 2 days. Nothing bad could happen.
I am also making initial plans for this site, I’m planning to put some categories and possibly a podcast, but I won’t do the voice and stuff, I terribly suck at that.
Anyway, I’m off to work again. More SEO tutorials as soon as I get back on track.

I never had a client but I did have a job today. I will be working 6 hours a day for BBA Virtual Staffing.
I really am excited to work for them and I would also like to collaborate with other SEOs to learn more about new linkbuilding techniques.
I am feeling so excited about this. Tomorrow will be a new day and will be the start of me walking a new path in the field of Search Engine Optimization.

Getting Back on Track!

It’s been one hell of a weekend for me. I totally forgot about work, finances, and all of that stuff. I enjoyed having a reunion with my dormitory buddies way back in 2005. As usual, some are too busy and never even minded to pop a message that they’re not coming.
It is funny that I have been working all this time and I dumped work for 2 days. Sometimes, going back to memory lane releases your stress. All of those months of hard work could be very stressful, but a day back in your old life will surely ease that all out.
Although today, I’m back to the real world, I’ll never forget that nostalgic experience. Until next time buddies! I will see you again soon!
My Last Day To Work This Week. And Then, Vacation!

It has really been a tiring week for me. I’ve had much to do in work, and also, ranking my website. I am trying to get thru the 2 competitions, for Engrape Financier, I’m still on the lead with about a month to go. On ITCsales however, I am having a hard time outranking the site. The page only has 12 backlinks, though mine has over 700. I tried chasing the forum’s links but it is of no use.
Anyway, I will be making more plans this coming weekend. But before that, I am going out to party a little bit. As they say, too much of something kills. I do love working, but there are times when I have to relax and enjoy life a little.
Anyway, I will be posting more and more updates regarding my SEO experiments next week. Also, I will be posting more SEO Tips here and at Search Engine Primacy’s blog.
New Week, New Set of Tasks!

Well, as much as I really want to extend my rest, I can’t. I have to go back working again because of the fact that the party weekend is already over.
To start with my tasks, I am making SEO efforts to my websites. BTW, I am still ranking 1st on the Engrape Financier SEO Contest and I am already at Page 2 on ITCSales. (Well, I had to brag about it. lol) Still, paypal haven’t processed my account just yet. My sending limits are not yet lifted that’s why I still can’t purchase a domain name. However, they said 24 hours so why not wait right?
I do also have several clients to work for this week. I still have to work for blog commenting on the band it shop and make some review copies for a new potential client. I sure do think that this week will be a breeze for me.
Anyway, as a part of my SEO Experiment, I am trying out different softwares (Yes, I even buy some of them just to try them out.) and I would like to know which of these softwares do actually work and somewhat are ethical. I mean, I really really love to have tools but I am no black hat practitioner. It’s a big NO NO for me…
